Job Function:
The position requires a through knowledge of all types of account ownership including retirement accounts, account classification, as well as a broad knowledge of Bank Services. Provides service to customers by receiving, paying and keeping accurate records of all moneys involved in such transaction and assists customer with basic transactions. Work involves constant and direct dealing with Bank clients and requires the ability to communicate tactfully.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Accepts checks and/or customer withdrawals for cashing or paying. Verifies signature, checks for stops and hold/messages placed on computers. Verifies endorsements, valid identification and refers large or unusual transactions to supervisor. Accepts customer telephone transfers.
- Provides a variety of customer service functions that may involve the receipt and payment of money. Maintains a cash limit in drawer.
- Opens new accounts for new and existing clients, following up in completing all documentation necessary to set up account relationship.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the Bank’s products and services.
- Basic computer, calculation and typing skills. Proficiency in Microsoft word and excel. Demonstrates professional and courteous telephone, email and direct customer communication abilities.
- Ability to perform duties with a limited amount of supervision.
- Ability to work in a general office-type environment, with some stooping, bending and lifting of files and supplies.
- The employee is responsible to comply with all laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Generally is new or has up to two years of experience.
